* LJ has become that toothache that aches when you tongue it but sorta kinda just feels numb when you ignore it. There are many many reasons for this and half are mine and I own them and half are the flists and I'm pretty sure they couldn't give a rat's ass....but I'm feeling this particular journal of mine is done. Finished. In the same way my last lj journal came to a horrid messy end. What did we use to say in junior high - it's been real and it's been fun but it hasn't been real fun? Some of you will see my voice again - soon maybe, but others won't and I wish you all the best and have a great life and remember it's short and you gotta embrace all of it and take what you need and leave the rest and be kind and pet animals and rally for the underdog and all of that bumper sticker stuff.

* On a more lj-ey note, I've found a novel that some of you will love - you in particular, bauhausfrau! It is steeped to the brim in that amazing British Lit genre of overlapping lives separated by generations - AS Byatt perfected this niche with "Possession" but Lindsey Clarke pre-dated her with "The Chymical Wedding" (it is shameful that that amazing title is out of print) and now I'm adding this new title to the list "Ghostwalk" by Rebecca Stott. Only 1/3 of the way in but it is beautiful in its prose, shocking on some singular lines and delicious in every imaginable way. What other titles fit this genre? John Fowles' "The French Lieutenant's Woman".

* BSG continues to amaze and generate thought (and lustful vibes for Admiral Adama). How cool is it that we get to see mini-Olmos every time his son is on screen. I love that!

* Not writing. Playing with dogs. And that's good, too.

No fooling. I'm done with this journal but not LJ. I really prefer LiveJournal over all the blogging sites out there!
Mar. 17th, 2012 05:36 pm (UTC)
ok, good. hope to see ya again <3
Mar. 17th, 2012 04:32 pm (UTC)
I think LJ is going through changes right now, it remains to be seen how it will ultimately shake down, but I hope to still see you around in some incarnation because you'd be greatly missed!

Oh, thanks so much for the book recommendation! That type of book is my all time favorite but it seems so hard to find, and even hard to define when asking others for book recs. I've heard of Ghostwalk somewhere along the way and had a mental note to check it out, just because of the name if nothing else but now I've GOT to get it!

One day soon I may have to watch BSG all over again, loved, loved loved that show. Don't know if you play board games at all but the BSG one is actually quite fun.

Just downloaded to the ipad, it's a dreary rainy day here, perfect for reading, thanks again hon! :)
Mar. 17th, 2012 04:55 pm (UTC)

I'm so busy these days that I miss lots of stuff and I really wonder happened in here to make you feel that way.

I hope our paths will continue to cross, E. I've enjoyed having the chance to get re-acquainted. I missed you when we weren't in touch. ~hugs~

Hope we can still keep in touch! :(

Does that mean one can find you again under another name? I'd sincerely miss reading your unconventional posts.
Mar. 17th, 2012 08:26 pm (UTC)
I'll miss you :hugs:
Mar. 17th, 2012 09:01 pm (UTC)
I'll miss you too, sugar. Hope to see you again under another name, because I'd hate to lose touch . . .

Do what you need to do to be happy. <3
Mar. 17th, 2012 09:48 pm (UTC)
Aww, I hope I will hear from you again sometime.
Mar. 17th, 2012 09:56 pm (UTC)
I'm going to miss the daily puppy and your doll photos and tattoo plans.

Mar. 17th, 2012 10:09 pm (UTC)
"Not writing. Playing with dogs." = story of my (happy) life. :)

Be well!
Mar. 17th, 2012 10:51 pm (UTC)
Well, that sucks. But I understand it, too. Sometimes you just have to start over.
Mar. 17th, 2012 11:59 pm (UTC)
Wow! Really? This is it? You'll be sadly missed :o(
LJ has been feeling different lately and I thought it was just me, a bit like a ghost town and I've thought about leaving too but I just can't, I always come back.
Mar. 18th, 2012 12:23 am (UTC)
Selfishly, I want you to stay put and chat about all that is strange and wonderful and unique to your interests :-(

Fresh air and doggie-play is no match for a computer screen, though. I hope very much that I see you in whatever new incarnation you look to next.

Yours in BSG-love :-D
Mar. 18th, 2012 12:53 am (UTC)
Who else am I going to talk all things Nick Cave, music and tattoo's to?? :..( I will miss you and your beautiful photos and prose. You are one of the reasons I still come here myself.
Mar. 18th, 2012 03:01 am (UTC)
Growth is normal and sometimes growing means moving on.

I wish you and The Viking all the best. I'll see you when I see you I guess.

Be well.
Mar. 18th, 2012 06:53 am (UTC)
Sad to see you go, and I sincerely hope none of my entries contributed to anything that would cause you to re-think your current f-list :(

I'll miss your entries, and I still hope we can keep in touch somehow on some platform. :)
Mar. 18th, 2012 07:25 am (UTC)
I will really miss you. Your journal has always been one of the most stimulating that I read, and I have learned so much from you. The diversity of your interests has always impressed me, and I loved your dolls so much. Take care, sweetie.
Mar. 18th, 2012 03:32 pm (UTC)
Oh, no!
Your first paragraph ... speechless! ... but also understanding. I've never been a constant participant in anyone's LJ, not even my own. And I, too, have wondered if it isn't time to move on, or just move out. Typically undecided, I do neither.

I will miss you so, so much--I still check into SkullTheatre from time to time--but I will keep my eyes peeled for your next LJ incarnation. (Massive hugs!)
Mar. 18th, 2012 04:08 pm (UTC)
I will certainly miss reading this journal but I understand the need to move on if the journal isn't suiting you any more. The LJ I'm using now isn't my original one. Sometimes it's best to start fresh. Would love to see you online again one day but if not... have fun with puppy and Viking and carry on being cool.
Mar. 18th, 2012 07:29 pm (UTC)
Hope I hear from you again. I love your posts! So interesting and different!
Mar. 19th, 2012 01:11 am (UTC)
I'm glad you wont be completely gone. I hope to see you again! I was looking forward to seeing the puppy get older! If you do make another journal I would love to be able to view it.
Mar. 19th, 2012 03:24 am (UTC)
Well, I'll miss ya.
I'll say g'bye now, 'cos I can count on one hand the people who've ever chosen to keep me around :)
Mar. 19th, 2012 03:43 am (UTC)
*hugs* be well, and I hope you'll decide to keep in touch in some way :) *huggles*
Mar. 19th, 2012 08:22 pm (UTC)
Oh. Hm. But don't stop writing and posting fics, if yu quit LJ, please!
Mar. 20th, 2012 12:03 am (UTC)
When things, experiences or people start diminishing our souls instead of growing them it's time to move on. Sometimes you need to take time to examine these things.

You inspire many people here. I'm waiting for your return, whatever form you decide to take. Love ya! And good luck!!:)
Mar. 20th, 2012 11:09 am (UTC)
Mental spring cleaning for the win.

Hope we can keep in touch!
Mar. 20th, 2012 10:41 pm (UTC)
I thought I'd pop in and wave, though I haven't seen so very much of you (or piped up much) since the Pirates of the Caribbean days. Best of luck in your new endeavours, livejournal and otherwise.
Mar. 20th, 2012 11:20 pm (UTC)
Boy, I understand. Sooo sorry to hear you are closing this LJ down . . . I truly did enjoy so much hearing and reading your magical words . . . getting glimpses of your world.

Wishing good things for you . . . ahhh I see an amazing puppy at your LJ. (want to check out his story) Hope you don't take this LJ down for a while. I'd love to go back and play catch up on what I've been missing since my own confessed absentee-ism. *laughs*

PS - Had thought about becoming more active here at LJ again . . . but sometime moving on is a good thing. I'd be interested in where you end up on LJ next . . .
Mar. 21st, 2012 10:43 pm (UTC)
I'm almost never on lj now - it seemed compulsive and addictive when I was (and I used it to procrastinate a lot), even though I miss it, and strangely like work, for a pleasure activity. Now. if you're not going to be on it, that is even less reason to want to be back ... your voice was always one of the particularly bright sharp ones that cut through the grey light. Let me know if you are going to be here or elsewhere in the web universe (and if you want bits of the prior journal life following you, of course).

Mar. 24th, 2012 07:12 am (UTC)
Oh no, just as I get back in the swing to see you leave.. : (
Mar. 26th, 2012 05:58 am (UTC)
Do what's fun. If it's not fun for your anymore, don't do it. Easy.

Not trying to be sarcastic, or mean, or nasty. E, you may want to just take a break and some deep breaths. Drop people that you don't like, and filter your posts... try to find the fun. but again... just do it if you like it. if not it's a waste of your time. Life is too short to fuck around with stupid ass crap that you don't at least get something good out of it.
Apr. 15th, 2012 06:48 pm (UTC)
Just when I'm slowly coming back to LJ and at least manage to read and comment my flist every now and then I find you've closed down this journal. :(
I hope I'll be seeing you around, your entries and comments have often be so inspiring and encouraging to me.
But I can understand if you want to start again with a fresh journal. All the best! <3

Not sure if you're still reading this but just had to reply about the book recommendation, I finally started Ghostwalk and am loving it! I also thought of you with two recent books I finished, Liz Hand's newest one Radiant Days- hard not to like a book about a 1970s punk girl artist and Arthur Rimbaud. And Lisa Goldsteins Uncertain Places - tales from the brothers Grimm transposed to 1970s/80s California. Neither of these matches something like Possession, but they were both beautiful in places and a far cry from the norm. </p>

I hope you come back to LJ in some incarnation because who else will I talk books with if not you!? Take care.

Coming out of the grainy woodwork to say I'll miss your posts! Please be well and take care!!! ♥

Hello, I'm not on here much anymore either, but I just saw a news story about the wildfires in NoCa and hope you and yours are safe and well!
