*thunk* As per her usual, [info]catcara has pwned me completely by finding this image. And I thought I knew Rackham!!! I'm thinking....that even though this satyr isn't fiercely horned and goateed, this image just....might....work as an upper arm tattoo. I'm going to bring it in with me when I see my artist and see what he thinks - if he can add a woodcut flair to it and beard and horn this boy! I want it complete - not with the trees - but with the swooning maiden and the book and yes yes yes! Not super hip to figures being seated....Thoughts? Thank you, C!

I'm gathering quite a bit of satyr material and if I ever figure out how to work my website....Yeah, still so not getting that. My problem is that I need something to build pages in....and then I need to figure out how to work the index, etc., because that's really where I'm getting hung up. Going to have to contact [info]withinity again for a good long lesson! The Satyr Site must come to glorious hooved life!

Feeling incredibly frustrated and low this week. Black edges and all....and then I remembered that I'm trying to cut back on the Neurontin rather than going cold turkey when it runs out next week. I do see my surgeon next week...but I really don't want to be on any meds long term. Anyway, dark thoughts is one of the side affects....so I'm chalking my very dangerous mood up to that. *stabs*

Waiting to exhale on a few doll things. Yo addiction is full blown! And ideas are abounding like abounding dollplot bunnies! It's all about finding cash and keeping the word out there that I'm looking for ayumu. I've got some things in the works and it's quite exciting. Definitely going to shell the kids!

I've also listed the Heliot/Sard sale. He is such a compelling doll....but I cannot allow myself to be seduced. Focus focus focus <------- mantra.

Shout out to [info]thistle_verse for the Sookie Stackhouse rec! Much fun there. I have found, the older I get, the more in need of entertainment, I have grown exceedingly forgiving with my prose exploits. Ten years ago I could not have read even two paragraphs of this sort of outing - yes, yes, serious Literature Snob. But this is grand fun and is easing my current Angry mind.

Happy Independence Day, fellow Americans!!!!

Oh cool! Glad you're enjoying those. As you get further along with the books you see a lot more of Eric, the Viking vampire, and he's just a lot of fun. I think I'm a bit of a book snob myself, but I enjoy these books. They're fun, and I think they're really well done for what they are meant to be. I really can't get into a vampire story that doesn't have a sense of humor about itself. I just started Sunshine last night.

Curious to hear what you think about Sunshine....I finished the first book last night and it certainly was fun! Thanks again for the rec, B!

As far as pain after that surgery goes... I'm glad you are speaking to your doctor. You shouldn't be on any sort of permanent medication, Zag. That's very unusual. Did you go through physical thearphy afterwards? I did for about a month or two afterwards. I hope that gets all sorted out for you.

So much has happened, Mercy, I wouldn't even know where to begin relaying it all. The main gist was that the surgery failed and I ended up with the exact same fracture three weeks to the day after the surgery. Things have been....difficult. Thanks for your thoughts, though!

You have several artists on your f-list; I'm sure it would be possible to end up with a standing satyr, fierceness, horns and all, with the swooning maiden that would match what you're looking for.

Hee hee, I'm in the midst of a summer reading Sookie marathon! It's pretty perfect beach reading. The HBO show is fun too.

It's pretty fun stuff! I saw one ep from True Blood and Paquin seems like the perfect casting - I never saw who they cast for Bill, though!

Really surprised to see you're selling the Sard hooves. you must have another Sard body with hooves, I can't imagine you'd leave yourself hoofless? Good luck with the sale, some lucky person will be getting quite a unique doll.

Sorry to hear that you're having a hard time this week. I hope something can be done to ease the pain xx

Thanks, J!

That's a charming Rackham print ~ I've not seen that one before ~ it would make a very lovely tatt just as it is. Suggestions if you want a somewhat different look to the drawing: Perhaps with a more angular, sculpted look to the face once your tatt artist starts to work on the preliminary drawing? And perhaps instead of seated half facing away from each other, the figures standing and entwined? Side note: Let me know if you'd like a satyr drawing, my get well gift to you, if you'd like!

Another Rackham thought: I've always admired his work, and am especially fond of his creepily delicious trees, with their long, claw-like branch "hands" and gibbering, rather secretive faces.

And Happy 4th of July to you also!

Sorry to hear that the pain relief med you're taking is giving you gloomy thoughts, so glad that Sookie Vamps are bringing you some fun and a way out of the gloom. As you say, Sookie & Co. is definitely not high literature, but it is amusing light reading, and that in itself is a good thing for you! *hugs*

I would LOVE a satyr drawing - more than you can know, G!!! I'm going to take this into the artist and see what he thinks can be done....just not sure how I feel about seated figures! I can't believe I've never seen this before!

Thanks! *hugs*

OMG! That picture is stunning, if I were getting the tattoo I would get the trees as well, though.

Building pages for web is pretty easy in Dreamweaver... it's WYSIWYG, and you can also switch to code view and manipulate the code if you know how it works... I had to do a refresher to do our auction listing, and I used a template for that. The index, would just be a page with an organised list of links to the other pages, right? Or are you having trouble visualising how to organise it?

Isn't it insane???? Aimee and I used Rackham's Loki for inspiration - I just love his work!!! Gregory Maguire wrote a short story inspired by one of Rackham's trees!

My problem, T, is figuring out how to load the pages into the index and how to manage them online. Every time I load something, it doesn't show up at the url...it's beyond frustrating. I need someone to come sit with me and walk me through that process.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering still . . . I remember you were having problems before Gogadoll, and then you hadn't said a word, so I only hoped you were getting better. Thank god you'll be seeing your surgeon this week again. I hope you get some good answers and of course a second opinion?

The Rackham image is delightful. I could see you getting a tat like that. I guess you've researched Rackham's work to find a satyr standing instead.

I've been watching True Blood, and had thought of getting the Sookie Stackhouse series just for some fun entertainment. I was trying to talk myself into getting the series loaded onto a kindle. Still wrestling with that though.

Ayumu is my favorite little Yo boy. Such a great impish face and yes, he's on my ongoing 'wishlist' for someday. My two Yo girls need a boy to balance them out. LOL!

I'm so tired of not feeling well, K, I can't even begin to express that particular exhaustion, so I've stopped talking about it...sigh...

I wonder if True Blood is as much fun as the books! I finished the first last night....and it really was rollicking! I'm holding out for a Kindle for Christmas so my family has something to give me! Although reading on my HP Touchsmart is a similar experience I think, in tablet form.

Yay for ayumu!

Ohh I love the satyr picture, z! Would make a great tattoo...on the Sookie Stackhouse books, I've read all of the series and just finishing the current and last one. But for years I wouldn't buy them because I didn't like the cover art (silly me) and I didn't like 'comedy' with vampires. Little did I know what a great storyteller Charlaine Harris is. If not for 'True Blood' I'd never have picked one up. They are fabulous. And I LOVE Bill and Eric (especially Eric!) hehe
