Right Until The Devil Drinks It Down
Perfect photography weather - totally overcast and the sky is silver silver silver!!!! But I just can't get this fookin body to stand at all and the wig is making me nuts - this is my original Junkie Angel - the resident Bad Boy. He's the identical twin SA Saint, so Version 1, on his Version 2 Dollshe body and I've gotten so used to the heavier Bermann as of late, since that's the body I've been photographing with the other SA Saint head....Anyway, I grabbed these shots - NOT what I was working towards and I'm getting good and tired of saying THAT. Sheesh. I need a dollie photag assistant - someone to wrestle the resin. Hee~! So, yeah, not the best exposure on these, but that's all I'm doing. Blegh.

But, he's looking mighty Dark in these and that's why I love this boy so very much. He's just....bad.

Isn't he rude? ;) I used to have the Dollti with the bird finger and then zoi made a bird finger hand for my CP boys - guess, it's juvenile, but it's fun!

Since many of your shots are cropped or his wig is covering a lot of his body, why don't you buy a doll stand, Zag? You can photoshop it out later? It's better than struggling with the doll or worst yet, having the doll face plant and have something break.

Just a suggestion. I'm actually using stands now and wondering why it took me five years to do so.

I know, Mercy. And I've got stands - I just don't like the way they hold the doll....and the Dollshe do stand well...and mine are sueded and wired...but it's the whole kit and caboodle, you know? The wig, the pose, the accessories, the lighting...blahblah. People will just do what you tell them...the dolls won't.

Glad you're using stands! What kind/type?

You know... they are these cheapo $20 stands that I bought from kemper. Metal and all. I used them as braces since the main dolls are all sueded and wired... it's just used as added support especially when I am on uneven ground. I was thinking of buying some off Ebay that are a little more sturdy since these ones bend.

Really really? The metal ones that go around their waist???? How did you find some big enough? I've got the heavy-duty saddle ones sold on ebay - well worth the cost!

Kemper is down here in Chino/LA and they have these HUGE stands for HUGE dolls. So, when I went in there, I just found them. And they do go ahead the waist. I don't think they sell them online, but they MIGHT. I jury rig a lot of the stuff I use to work, but with the Bermann, they do stand by themselves for the most part. I just use the stands as back up on weird surfaces, making the dolls like tripods. Does that make any sense? Hard to explain. My flower beach shoot that's what I did.

He really is - there was only one shoot in which he looked...not bad, just vulnerable. His twin is so benevolant it's funny!

..yikes, I do remember having to wrestle with them Dollshes....
...most of the time, just when your lower back is about to break...or your knees... voila!.. they stand...but you never know for how long ,so then have to dash around shooting hoping they stand long enough..forgetting to breathe during the whole process...
I wish we had more overcast days here too..so rare..

but, these are so worth it....!!!!

Yup! Yup! Alain SD17 ...the SD17 body is beautiful..but haven't had the opportunity to pose/play with him much..I think they are able to pose well...
I think Sd17 is what we needed to keep the
Dollshe company(SD13s look so ..young next to them)...
Iam looking forward to when the Guardian arrives...
I think they may be great buddies..

Again, I have to exclaim with the rest..that these shots you did are super awesome...sigh..
I feel rather shy to ask...but.... may I ask for permission to have This One as dsktop background?...

Heh, you and I are his biggest fangrrls for that exact reason! I'm going to attempt the shoot again, it was going in a very dark direction, but still mighty intriguing....all those shots are totally blown out but at least I know that my pose/idea were working!

I think what I like most about him is the attitude, of course, and the fact that he really looks like he's upset to be having his picture taken.

There's some shots where he looks evol, and others where's he ticked off and others yet where it's a righteous anger, and still others where he's gone calm again...always a bad sign...
I love how, in that last four, he seems to be considering the proposition, and then very calmly and nastily informing the inquirer of his opinion.

Looks rather like the climactic scene in a martial arts movie where he's about to have sixteen bad guys all pile on him at once and he still doesn't care to accept the gangster's offer.
Which suggests all kinds of interesting angles and action shots where he's using the wings, of course. (Sometimes a CGI imaginaion is a curse...)

My suspicion that this all actually may involve a perfectly polite request from you to stand safely and securely for long enough to snap the shots may, of course, be reading too much into that expression...
